It is so hard to believe you are 27 years old today.
Where has the time gone.
Seems I blinked and you were grown.
I blinked again and you were gone...
They say you are forever 18,
but in my heart you continue to grow and bloom
in heaven as you did here on earth.
I think about the dreams and hope we held for you.
The hopes and dreams you had for yourself.
I wonder:
where would you be today
What would look like?
What would you be doing?
Would you be married?
Today you are 27 years old,
two months shy of my 27 th birthday
I held you in my arms for the first time.
I wonder:
Would you be holding your first born child now?
So many questions and no answers
So much sadness and pain and no end in sight

When you were very small,
You would watch the birds fly
And you would ask me
Mommy why can't I fly like the birds do?
Mommy wouldn't it be fun to fly like the birds do?
I would tell you
Yes little one that would be fun
But right now your mama's baby bird
and you have to stay here with mama
But someday you will little man
you will spread your wings and fly
All baby birds gotta fly
I wish I had known just how far you would fly.
