To Joshua with Love
Happy Birthday Son

Happy 37th Birthday my sweet blue eyed son.
It is hard to believe as always that so much time has past
How could so much time have slipped by?
When in my heart it is still that fateful day
and your still Eighteen,
Just embarking on a life of your own
just beginning to find your way in this world.
So many precious memories the first time I saw you ..
I remember how you raised your eyebrow
You gave me that lopsided grin
You quickly closed your eyes as if you were asleep
You first steps and how after just a few steps
You stepped right over mine and Daddy's legs
You took off running and your never did stop running
First day of school we were both so proud
But for different reasons
I sat on the school steps and cried ..
While you ran off to play
First date, first prom, first car, so many firsts,
So many memories and yet they are just not enough...
But memories are all we have for now
I wouldn't have missed them for anything in this world.
I love you forever plus one day, Mom

"The Wonder Of You"

I wonder what you'd look like now
Would your eyes still sparkle deep blue?
I yearn to look into those eyes
And say that I love you

I wonder how your laugh would sound
It would fill my heart with joy
The sound so blissful to my ears
My sweet baby boy

I wonder how it would feel to touch
Your skin so soft and warm
To hold you close and kiss your nose
And keep you safe from harm

I wonder of the days I'd spend
Never wanting to be apart
The intoxicating spell that you would cast
Upon my rapturous heart

The wonder of you will never stop
It's with me every day
In every thought, in every dream
It will never go away

Good Byes Are Not Forever

My heart searches for words to say,
But very little come my way,
For my heart is torn and very sad,
To think of the son that I once had.

Now you are gone forever from me,
Until the day of eternity,
When I will see you again once more,
To live forever on God's great shore.

You finally found your peace of mind,
Away from earth's great stress,
For now you are with Jesus,
And have reached eternal rest.

I loved you then I love you now,
My heart holds an empty place,
To think that I wont see you again,
Or hug with a tender embrace.

Good byes are never easy to say,
And it's hard to let you go,
So Ill carry you always in my heart,
While I live here on earth below.

And someday my darling precious son,

I know we will meet again,
In a place thats known as heaven,
Where its beauty never ends.

One Hell Of An Amen

By Brantley Gilbert

Preacher said he died too young
Over there totin' that gun
For Uncle Sam and our freedom
Mom and Daddy dressed in black
They folded up that flag
Handed it dad, and started prayin'
Yeah he went out twenty one guns blazin'

That's one hell of an amen
That's the only way to go
Fightin' the good fight
Til the good Lord calls you home
And so be well my friend
'Til I see you again
This is our last goodbye
It's a hell of an amen, amen

Doctor said he ain't got long
He just smiled said bring it on
Well if you think I'm scared
You got me all wrong
No a little cancer can't break me
My heart's right and I believe
We all hit our knees
And started prayin'
Naw he never gave up
Said the good Lord's waitin'

And that's one hell of an amen
That's the only way to go
Fightin' the good fight
Til the good Lord calls you home
So be well my friend
'Til I see you again
Yeah this is our last goodbye
It's a hell of an amen

So be well my friend
'Til I see you again
This is our last goodbye
But it's a hell of an amen,
amen, that's a hell of amen
