The day the World wept . . .
Her life so precious to her family and friends -
was discounted by the two who took her life without thought,
with brutal hate and anger .
By all accounts Rachel
was the first victim at Columbine,
she and a friend were on their way to the parking lot
when they encountered the gunmen.
There had been no escape for them . . .
Rachel lost her life,
her friend who was shot multiple times survived but
remains in the hospital and we pray for his recovery.
We will remember . . . .

The day you were forever taken from us.

to carry you on your heavenly flight
and we will remember that you were not alone.
Beside you were eleven of your classmates
and one brave teacher.

Gone due to corporate greed.
It wasn't "cost efficient" for major blood manufacturers
to test and treat the blood supply for virus contamination.
Grant was born with hemophilia,
a genetic bleeding disorder that did not allow his blood to clot normally.
He required the use of a blood product called factor concentrate to treat his bleeding episodes.
Prior to 1985 there were few restrictions on the processing of blood products.
Grant was infused with the factor concentrate in 1982 at the age of 2 and became infected with HIV.
Grant is only one of some 10,000 people in the United States with hemophilia who were infected with HIV.
